The Family Coalition Colorado is a newly formed, policy-driven partnership representing Colorado’s Children & Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) and disabilities. We connect families with trustworthy information, peer support, and tools to navigate complex systems — from health care and education to community life and public benefits.

We provide a centralized space where complex legislation is translated into digestible, actionable information for busy parents, and where legislators can directly connect with the families their policies impact. This website transforms advocacy from an overwhelming, time-consuming process into an accessible tool that empowers parents to make their voices heard and helps legislators understand the real-world consequences of their decisions on Colorado families.

Our
Team

The Family Coalition is a new entity in the policy arena, representing Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) and disabilities. The Family Coalition is made up of five grassroots organizations that focus on the rights of families and their beloved family members with disabilities.

Policy Spotlight

Equity in education and health care for children with disabilities.

Families of children with disabilities encounter barriers due to policy decisions, such as underfunded schools and complicated health systems. The Family Coalition Colorado amplifies their stories to influence decision-makers, aiming to enhance laws and funding for every child — regardless of location, income, language, or disability — to access quality education, healthcare, and community support.
